In the streets of Pondicherry

Streets in Pondicherry remembers us to think it was greatly influenced by French. The town is divided into two sections French quarter where you can see streets in the design based on Dutch grid pattern, also they still retain the street names in French. On the other hand houses in Indian quarter are typical Indian style with verandas and large doors. We really enjoyed walking along the road, admired by the architectural beauty of these houses.

The important thing is that if anyone wishes to rebuild their house, they need to get approval from an organization named INTACH (who prevent these old architecture from destruction). Also the rebuilt house should resemble the same architecture it possessed before demolition.
